Martha Stewart Living rugs are poised to replace Stainmaster carpets at Home Depot after the latter dropped the hardware retailer in a recent negotiation. Home Depot will no longer offer the Stainmaster brand starting today and will finish installing Martha Stewart displays in stores during the first week of July, executives said in interviews. Home Depot already sells paint, patio furniture and closet organizers through an agreement with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. An expansive line of rugs and carpets will add to the growing line.
Robin Marino, president and CEO of merchandising at Martha Stewart Living, was quoted as saying that she hopes to provide the consumer with everything that they need to decorate their home through the Home Depot line. Watch for cabinets and countertops this fall followed by more gardening tools and an exclusive line of holiday decorations.
