On Friday, April 30, Lucinda Scala Quinn, executive director of food for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, teamed up with Jennifer Garner in New York to prepare healthy snacks and educate parents regarding the importance of healthier lifestyles.
"Snacking smart is often about making due with what you have on hand in your refrigerator or in your pantry," said food editor Quinn. "Wholesome ingredients, such as whole wheat crackers, raisins, cheese slices and carrots can be the foundation of any great, kid-friendly snack."
The event was part of Frigidaire’s “Make Time for Snack Time,” a virtual campaign designed to get kids snacking smart benefiting Save the Children. For everyone who goes to Frigidaire.com and stops the clock for snack time, Frigidaire will donate $1 to support Save the Children’s work to help children in need in the U.S., as part of their $250,000 commitment to this worthy cause. Additionally, Lucinda has gathered a number of healthy snack recipes that are accessible via the site.
