This month marks a couple of very big milestones in the history of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, not the least of which is the 'big move' from network to cable for Martha Stewart Living Television. The Martha Stewart Show, Everyday Food and the premier of two new shows (as well as several special Martha Stewart programs) will all debut this month on The Hallmark Channel.
September 13th is the 'big day' to watch for, with three big premiers for Martha Stewart Television, including two debut episodes of new shows: the season premier of The Martha Stewart Show at 10:00, followed by Whatever With Alexis and Jennifer at 11:00 (a live talk show hosted by Martha's daughter, Alexis, and her good friend Jennifer Koppelman-Hutt, which promises to be as irreverent as their radio show on Sirius of the same name), followed by Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala-Quinn (the editorial director of food at Martha Stewart Living and author of the cookbook Mad Hungry: Feeding Men and Boys) at 12:00, followed by Everyday Food at 12:30.
The two new shows mark a significant and exciting expansion into television programming for the company, giving the talented producers a chance to really spread their wings and explore new territory. Also on the calendar is the debut of Martha Stewart Presents on September 19th, a one-hour interview special hosted by Martha. The first in a series of specials, this one will feature some of America's greatest women designers, including Donna Karan, Diane Von Furstenburg and Tory Burch. Filming is already underway at Martha's farm in Bedford for a Halloween Special set to air on October 10th, and a baking show is concurrently being filmed at the farm (hosted by Martha) but there are few details about its debut thus far.
So much to look forward to!
PS: Also this month, Martha Stewart Living launches in England and Australia with a special UK edition of the magazine!
