Safavieh will soon be offering a line of hand-tufted Indian rugs in its Martha Stewart collection. The line is set to debut this spring at fairs in Las Vegas and will then be presented in full in High Point, North Carolina. Retailing at about $825 for a 5-foot-6 by 8-foot-6 size, the rugs bring the Martha Stewart Rugs collections into the moderate price bracket, reports Furniture Today.

"The collection focuses on re-creating expensive hand-knotted looks using high-quality hand-tufting. Proprietary effects created with hand-tufting in combinations of viscose and New Zealand wool allow us to cover all price points with the Martha Stewart Rugs collection," says Arash Yaraghi, a Safavieh spokesman.

A full-colour, 48-page catalog will be distributed to dealers and may eventually be viewable by the public on a new Internet microsite that is in the works with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. When completed, the website will highlight the new rugs and direct consumers to dealers.
