On her show today, Martha Stewart announced the publication of the first international edition of Everyday Food. It will be published in Spanish in Mexico and will debut in January, 2009. It will publish ten times a year in Mexico and possibly expand to other Spanish-speaking nations around the world. There is no cover image yet, but I'll be sure to post it when it does become available.

Martha was excited about the venture and introduced us to the new editor-in-chief (Fabiola De La Fuente) and the Mexican publisher. She hinted that there will be more Spanish-language publications from Martha Stewart Living in the future. My guess is that the flagship magazine will soon be published in Spanish as well.

This past summer we saw the launch of the Polish-language edition of Martha Stewart Living magazine and, more recently, a Philippines editon of Martha Stewart Weddings. To read more about Martha's magazines, including international editions, visit the "Martha's Magazines" link in the side Blog Highlights menu.

Prior to Martha's trial, expanding the international publication of MSLO magazines was a priority for the company - an initiative that was spearheaded by former MSLO president Sharon Patrick, who oversaw the launch of the Japanese publication of Martha Stewart Martha. These projects were put on hold in an effort to shore up the strength of the company at home during Martha's legal difficulties. It appears they are now back on track! I'll be watching for more international announcements in the coming year!
